Founded in 1843, Bishop's University is steeped in history heritage. Unique Experiences
Astronomical Observatory Located on the roof of the Nicolls building on the Bishop’s University campus, the observatory is an exciting addition to Bishop’s University. The new ASH Dome observatory houses a PlaneWave 17″ (f/6.8) Dall-Kirkham corrected optical design telescope which enriches the undergraduate students’ learning experience and gives the graduate students another tool with which to broaden their horizons. The new observatory is also open to the public for tours and stellar evenings. For group reservation only. St. Mark’s Chapel This carefully maintained and beautifully preserved chapel is located in the McGreer building. It was declared Cultural Property by the Quebec Ministère des affaires culturelles in 1989. Today, it remains as an important historical and artistic legacy of the long and significant role of Bishop’s University.

Like old-time miners, visitors are brought to the mine site by wagon, for a two-hour subterranean visit. During the tour, they will discover the industrial history of the oldest copper mine in Québec. The Prospector's Tour revives the times of the early prospectors. The participants walk with their cart through the breathtaking landscape in search of valuable ores. Brooks are examined for gold and minerals, discoveries are made, claims are marked. This tour is both a historic experience and a possibility to collect minerals. Open from May to October.

This natural phenomena occurred during the last glaciation period, around 50 000 years ago. Although already impressive, the gorge deepens every year, while the Coaticook River forces its way through the rocky mass. Take the time to walk across the world’s longest suspended bridge. Spreading over the river at 50 meters (164 ft.) high, the view of the gorge and surrounding scenery is exceptional. With its 169 m (554 ft.), it is the longest suspended footbridge in the world. It can support up to 800 persons! Founded in 1897, the Old Lennoxville Golf Club is the oldest nine-hole course in Canada (RCGA). The property is owned by Bishop's University and the course has not changed over the years, still proving to be a challenge for every category of golfer. What's more, the clubhouse offers its patrons a terrace view of the course, as well as a bar and catering service. Open from May to October.

The Parc Découverte Nature de Baldwin, invites visitors to get hooked on nature in Coaticook, in the Eastern Townships! Spread out over 12 square kilometres, the Parc Découverte Nature de Baldwin, in Coaticook is the doorway into the magnificent hamlet of Baldwin where Lyster Lake, Baldwin Pond and Mount Pinacle are found. Founded in 1898, Baldwin’s fish hatchery is today the most sophisticated in eastern North America. It is not possible to buy fish at the hatchery, but you can certainly fish yourself one for dinner!
