The Globe and Mail Centre is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art meeting & event venue located in the King East Design District of Toronto, Ontario. Our event space is situated on the top floors of the new headquarters of Canada’s leading news organization.
Full of natural light, with breathtaking panoramic lake views, this elegant venue is LEED Gold certified and fully accessible. The Globe and Mail Centre is equipped with the latest in audio-visual and connective technology and is staffed with a professional planning team intent on making your day exceptional by assisting with setup, flow, and event design .
Our flexible indoor and outdoor spaces are suited to a wide range of corporate events, including conferences, meetings, award presentations, product launches, receptions, and gala celebrations. The venue’s event packages provide necessities for your event, such as up to 300 comfortable chairs for guests, up to 10 cruiser tables, 8 charcoal gallery benches, six small coffee tables, access to an expansive terrace, and easy set-ups and take-downs for events.
The Globe and Mail Centre knows the importance of quality food and drink service and provides a fully customizable beverage menu as well as package bar options. The Globe and Mail Centre is a fully licensed Toronto, Ontario facility. We offer a fine selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic house product billed on consumption to the host or as a cash bar. There are no additional gratuity or administrative charges on beverage services. The Globe and Mail Centre has partnered with carefully selected suppliers for catering and rental services, allowing you to fully-customize your culinary experience. Known for their superb cuisine and exceptional calibre of service, our Preferred Caterers have experienced knowledge of the venue. A 15% landmark fee applies to all food and service staffing provided by Preferred Caterers, and will be outlined on your catering bill. All caterers will provide table and service ware through our exclusive rental supplier, Event Rental Group, who brings complete personalization to your table setting at a competitive rate.Must Use In-House Catering

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Toronto skyline and Lake Ontario, the west-facing Event Hall brings sophistication and elegance to any event. It features state-of-the-art digital projection, audio, lighting and recording technology.
The Event Hall (3,700 sq. ft. / 348 sq. m) can accommodate multiple configurations with flexible seating that allows for a variety of different setups, from theatre style to dinner seating. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Toronto skyline and Lake Ontario, the west-facing Event Hall brings sophistication and elegance to any event. It features state-of-the-art digital projection, audio, lighting and recording technology.

The Lounge (3,800 sq. ft / 355 sq. m.) is perfect for receptions and social celebrations and is separated from the Event Hall by a stunning moveable feature wall.
The Bar is appointed with marble detail, multiple cocktails stations and satellite options, and offers fully licensed in-house beverage services.
Event guests arrive to a private reception Lobby on Level 17, offering ample space for registration and coat check. Event producers have access to generous back-of-house areas, including catering and server areas, a greenroom, workspace, private washrooms and more.
The Lounge (3,800 sq. ft / 355 sq. m.) is perfect for receptions and social celebrations and is separated from the Event Hall by a stunning moveable feature wall.

The Toronto Islands - also called the Island, or Toronto Island Park - is located in Lake Ontario, a 13-minute ferry ride from downtown Toronto. Boats to the Island leave from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at the foot of Bay St. and Queen’s Quay. The Island is actually a group of 15 islands inter-connected by pathways and bridges. You can walk from one end of the Island to the other.
Kids and adults of all ages can find something to do or see on the Island. There are beautiful swimming beaches (including a Clothing Optional Beach on Hanlan’s Point!), sports facilities, bike, canoe and kayak rentals, a boating marina, large grassy fields for picnics, a theatre, nature paths, EMS and fire station, an amusement park and a charming 150 year-old community of 600 people living year-round in cottage-like homes.
You can walk, run or take your bike on the island, walk your dog (on a leash), visit the 200 year old lighthouse or the trout pond or have a coffee or beer at one of the restaurants. There are lockers at several busy locations, a pier, boardwalk, formal gardens, playgrounds, artists retreat and even a public grade school.
