Founded in 1843, Bishop's University is steeped in history heritage. Embrassed by the St-Francis and Massawippi rivers, Bishop's 500 acre campus is comfortably located in the charming Eastern Townships and only 10 minutes from the downtown Sherbrooke and is less than a day's drive from Ottawa, Toronto, Boston and New York City. Of course, nearby you will find the dynamism of Montreal, Quebec city and the American border states of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

The diversity of our facilities makes our Quebec Conference centre the ideal choice to welcome sports teams, corporate, religious or school groups, conferences, association and interest focus groups that are focused on the arts and more. Our 52 apartments and 553 rooms all in 7 residences, can accommodate groups from 20 to 1000 participants. Our campus is designed as a micro-village surrounded by nature with a full restaurant and catering services, empressive sports facilities, observatory, a security service, a variety of sporting and educational activities on site and nearby, less than one hour.

Capelton Mines | Less than 20 minutes away Like old-time miners, visitors are brought to the mine site by wagon, for a two-hour subterranean visit. During the tour, they will discover the industrial history of the oldest copper mine in Québec. The Prospector's Tour revives the times of the early prospectors. The participants walk with their cart through the breathtaking landscape in search of valuable ores. Brooks are examined for gold and minerals, discoveries are made, claims are marked. This tour is both a historic experience and a possibility to collect minerals. Open from May to October.

Coaticook Gorge - Foresta Lumina | 28 km, 30 minutes away This natural phenomena occurred during the last glaciation period, around 50 000 years ago. Although already impressive, the gorge deepens every year, while the Coaticook River forces its way through the rocky mass. Take the time to walk across the world’s longest suspended bridge. Spreading over the river at 50 meters (164 ft.) high, the view of the gorge and surrounding scenery is exceptional. With its 169 m (554 ft.), it is the longest suspended footbridge in the world. It can support up to 800 persons! Lennoxville Golf Club | Less than 15 minutes away Founded in 1897, the Old Lennoxville Golf Club is the oldest nine-hole course in Canada (RCGA). The property is owned by Bishop's University and the course has not changed over the years, still proving to be a challenge for every category of golfer. What's more, the clubhouse offers its patrons a terrace view of the course, as well as a bar and catering service. Open from May to October.

Parc Découverte Nature | 45 km, 40 minutes away The Parc Découverte Nature de Baldwin, invites visitors to get hooked on nature in Coaticook, in the Eastern Townships! Spread out over 12 square kilometres, the Parc Découverte Nature de Baldwin, in Coaticook is the doorway into the magnificent hamlet of Baldwin where Lyster Lake, Baldwin Pond and Mount Pinacle are found. Founded in 1898, Baldwin’s fish hatchery is today the most sophisticated in eastern North America. It is not possible to buy fish at the hatchery, but you can certainly fish yourself one for dinner! The actual mission is to reproduce and breed endangered species. Summer activities include: "Des Moulins" trail, exhibits, Lake Lyster beach, pond and river fishing, rock climbing and the station's Marshland Winter activities include: Exhibits, ice fishing and snowshoeing

Winery Halte des Pelerins | Less than 20 minutes away La Halte des Pèlerins vineyard invites you to taste its wine products in a divine setting! Discover the captivating world of wine with one of the 4 guided tours. Each in their own way, the pilgrims will teach you about winemaking history at the La Halte des Pèlerins and invite you to taste some of the wine products. Since its opening in 2008, the vineyard has constantly expanded its range of activities and products.

Sherbrooke Nature Science museum | Less than 15 minutes away Located in downtown Sherbrooke, the Nature and Science Museum presents AlterAnima, an unexpected encounter with animals in their natural state, Terra Mutantès, a multisensory show that makes us discover the transformation of the planet since 400 million years, four temporary exhibitions on various scientific themes and many animated activities for the family. Société d'histoire de Sherbrooke | Less than 15 minutes away The Société d'histoire de Sherbrooke can today be considered as the most important historical society in the region and one of the largest historical societies in Quebec. Its mission is to preserve, study, promote, and disseminate the documentary and ethnological historical heritage of the Sherbrooke region, thereby generating Sherbrooke residents' feeling of belonging to their city and their interest in their history and helping make Sherbrooke a recognized tourist destination. The Société d'histoire de Sherbrooke was founded on March 2, 1927, under the name of the Société d'histoire des Cantons-de-l'Est (Eastern Townships Historical Society).

Shrine of the Sacred Heart at Beauvoir | Less than 20 minutes away A unique site where one can find a place of silence, solitude and prayer. Along the shaded paths of Beauvoir, eight scenes from the life of Jesus remind the pilgrims of the love of the Son of God. The natural beauty and peace of the setting create a climate which encourages prayer and intimate contact with the Heart of Jesus.. The site offers unique panoramic views on the city of Sherbrooke. The outside chapel welcomes between 1,000 and 1,500 people to the masses on Sunday (10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) when the weather is kind.

Corridor Bleu Descent on the Magog River | 18 km, 30 minutes away (14km ride) OR 13 km, 20 minutes away (7km ride) Outdoor enthusiasts? Enjoy a fantastic ride on the Magog River ! With a canoe or a kayak, enjoy a ride that will make you discover rural and urban landscapes. A great way to learn water sports or to appreciate Sherbrooke’s natural beauty from a unique vantage point! A choice of Two Paths: For the 14 km ride, the starting point is located at the Plage-Municipale de Deauville. This option includes 2 portage paths and lasts about 3 hours and 30 minutes. A 7 km ride with only one portage path is also available. The starting point of this second option is located at the halte Turgeon-Gaudreau. You do not have a watercraft? Destination Sherbrooke, in collaboration with Atmosphere, offers many rental options, as well as transportation.

Granby Zoo | 95 km, 1 hour and 10 minutes away Granby Zoo is the largest zoo in Quebec. On the trails of the Zoo, observe close 1,500 animals representing 250 exotic species. Watch over twenty presentations from zoo keepers and educators. During the summer, try the new rides including the Anaconda roller coaster and The Kimbunga Pirogue! Nead to refresh? Perched on a spectacular alpine pasture at over 1000 feet of altitude, between the summits of Mont Sutton, Jay Peak and Owl’s Head – come and be amazed by one of the best views of the Green Mountains in Vermont and the Missisquoi River Valley with its spectacular cloud filled sunrises. Ski Bromont Water Park | 84 km, 1 hour away Water park with 20 or so aquatic and other attractions, including a heated wave pool measuring almost 24,000 sq. ft. (2,300 m2), rafting rivers, kilometres of waterslides and challenging alpine luges. Plus, you can even borrow a bike and give mountain biking a try!

J. Armand Bombardier Museum | 46 km, 45 minutes away The J. Armand Bombardier Museum is pleased to present highlights from Joseph-Armand Bombardier's life and work. Discover a fascinating individual, ingenious inventor, and pragmatic visionary and entrepreneur - a man who changed history through revolutionary innovations in snow transport. The Museum offers guided tours of the Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo and Bombardier ATV production lines at the Bombardier Recreational Products plant.

Saint Benedict's Abbey | 63 km, 50 minutes away Starting in 1912, Benedictine monks from France built a monastery overlooking Lake Memphremagog. The modern Saint-Benoît-du-Lac Abbey, designed by Dom Bellot, pays tribute to the harmony of natural geometric forms and makes splendid use of multicoloured bricks.
