The Alexandria Ballrooms

About

The legendary Alexandria Ballrooms is located on the corner of 5th & Spring Street in the heart of the Historic-Core in Downtown Los Angeles. The Alexandria offers three iconic event venues in one spectacular building! Since it’s opening in 1906, the Alexandria is known to have welcomed presidents, dignitaries and vintage Hollywood royalty. These spaces became an elegant gathering place for lively elite crowds for the most prestigious events, including Charlie Chaplain’s wedding ceremony. After decades, the ballrooms have been restored and have officially opened their doors once more. Make your event a part of history!

The Palm Court Ballroom was designated as a city of Los Angeles Historical-Cultural Monument in 1971. It was the city’s most prestigious ballroom event location of its time. Built to be luxurious, the ballroom is designed with arched high ceilings, original chandeliers and Tiffany Skylights you can still see today. Located directly outside the ballroom is a spacious Cocktail Lounge with a built-in bar and a private grand entrance hall perfect for a red carpet event. It has been featured in numerous Hollywood films, music video’s and famous photo shoots including Vogue with Natalie Portman!

The King Edward captures all the royal elements. Featuring gold leaf ceilings with crystal chandeliers, a romantic fireplace and tall windows that flood the room with natural light.
Perched above the ballroom is an elegant balcony terrace, with endless skylights creating a magical setting for your events or photo shoots.

The Mezz is located on the second level of The Alexandria and is surrounded by windows and skylights, the venue offers charming views of the city and nearby historical buildings.
The Mezz is the largest venue, measuring over 14,000 sqft. The industrial-style setting features exposed brick walls, candle-light iron beams, and a luxurious marble staircase upon entrance.
